CP/EB09 EMPRESS OF BRITAIN (Canadian Pacific) Her supreme Deck Plan! Huge fold open color coded Deck Plan. "Apartment Plan". Opens to a huge 36x48". Large exterior photo, 15 small interior & deck color illustrations on the Deck Plan side. 17 elegant interior and deck photos on the other side. There is even a chart showing the dimensions of all cabins! Text, captions. There is also a mid ships sectional diagram and 6 room plans. Unfortunately this item is poor condition. There is some staining due to water, splits at the seams, and what appears to be rodent damage that caused some holes causing a small part of the plan to the Cathay Lounge to be missing, as well as one or two cabins on C deck. HARD260 AMERIKA (Hamburg American) Souvenir metal memo book. 2 x 2.75". A wonderful likeness of the ship is embossed on the cover. The back cover has the HAPAG Line flag as well as wording "Souvenir of My Ocean Trip". When the mechanical pencil is removed, the cover springs up to reveal a booklet of blank memo paper. None of the paper was ever used. Very nice condition. There is some tarnish on the outside- possibly silver plate. The inside workings of the pencil is missing. OS13 CONTE ROSSO (Lloyd Sabaudo) Extermely rare book. 216 pages + end papers + hard covers. Measures 10x12.25". Seems to be a special builders edition. It is a numbered edition (#22323). There is a signed inscription by the Captain and a a signature by the designer Martin Obzima. The book concentrates only on the CONTE ROSSO, although the Conte Verde appears on the title, There is also a page that states that the Conte Verde will enter service in 1923. The book is divided into several chapters. The first chapter is Historical Notes on the House of Savoy. The next chapter is about the liner CONTE ROSSO. There are 32 elegant tip in illustrations showing the interior rooms. Color and Black & white. Next are 15 illustrations of the interior artwork aboard. There is a section on the machinery and a listing of 42 of the pictures aboard. The next chapter is a tour of Italy with many illustrations. The next chapter is about the Italian Musicians of various periods, and the final chapter has the music score of popular Italian tunes. Issued in Genoa, Italy in 1922. Elegantly prepared. BOOK46 BREMEN (North German Lloyd) "Die Siegesfahrt der BREMEN" by Kommodore Ahrens. Rare original German book from 1940 about the world's fastest passenger ship at the time the BREMEN. The Bremen was in New York, when WW2 broke out. The successful return to Germany became a huge cause celeb for the ship and its captain. There are 30 photographs within the book. Photos are mostly of the ship, Captain & crew in various parts of the ship. The book is hardback and has 179 numbered pages. It measures 8 1/4" x 5 1/2". German text. Even contains text of a message from Goering and others with the mandatory "Heil Hitler" greeting. Despite the escape from NY and the British fleet on the way back to Germany, the Bremen was destroyed by the Allies in an air raid in 1941. $175.00
