The Bremen was in New York, when WW2 broke out. The successful return to Germany became a huge cause celeb for the ship and its captain. There are 30 photographs within the book. Photos are mostly of the ship, Captain & crew in various parts of the ship. The book is hardback and has 179 numbered pages. It measures 8 1/4" x 5 1/2". German text. Even contains text of a message from Goering and others with the mandatory "Heil Hitler" greeting. Despite the escape from NY and the British fleet on the way back to Germany, the Bremen was destroyed by the Allies in an air raid in 1941. $175.00
